Membership Information (1) MEMBERSHIP A. Classes I. Ordinary Individual Member II Ordinary Corporate Member III Voting Individual Member IV Voting Corporate Member B. Criteria a) Diamond dealers b) Must be 21 years of age or over (For individual) c) Permanent resident of Hong Kong (For individual) c) Any firm or company duly registered in Hong Kong for not less than three consecutive years (For corporate) d) Has been involved in the import, export, wholesale, retail or manufacturing of diamonds and/or diamond jewellery for not less than three consecutive years preceding his/her application. e) Sponsored by two voting members of the Federation and shall be submitted with reference(s) from bank(s) and diamond trader(s) as the Executive Committee may stipulate. f) An Ordinary Member who has been such for not less than one year and obtained written support of two voting members may apply to become a voting member. g) Clean compliant record h) Healthy financial standing i) Willing to abide by the regulations of the Federation C. Rights I An Ordinary Member is entitled to: a) trade in the Federation; and b) use all facilities provided by the Federation II A Voting Member is entitled to: a) enjoy all rights conferred on an individual Ordinary Member; and b) receive notice, attend and vote at a general meeting of the Association. c) be elected as a member of the Executive Committee (For individual) or appoint an individual as its member representative to elect and be elected as a member of the Executive Committee (For corporate) d) introduce visitors to the Association; and e) introduce persons to become Ordinary Members of the Association. D. Obligation All members shall be abide by the regulations of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Association and the World Federation of Diamond Bourses. E. Duties a) An Ordinary member shall be required, upon admission as a member, to pay an entrance fee, which shall be non-refundable to the member under any circumstances after payment and shall pay Annual Subscriptions in Accordance with Article 33(a) hereof. b) Upon admission as an ordinary member, the ordinary member must apply to join one or more of the divisions of the Association. c) A Voting member shall be required, upon admission as a member, to pay an entrance fee, which shall be non-refundable to the member under any circumstances after payment and shall pay Annual Subscriptions in Accordance with Article 33(a) hereof. Submitted information will only be used for verification and assessment purpose only. b) Membership will be granted to approved applicants after consideration.
